Your interest in IT where did it come from? For me, Home Computing as it was back then. The first computer I owned was a Sinclair ZX81, but not the first one I played with. The time was ther early 80’s when CB radio were growing in the UK. A small shop opened locally selling CB equipment. They also had a home built PC mounted in a plywood box. Spent a lot of time in that shop with the guy behind the desk telling me what to type.
With the ZX81 launched March 1981. I could afford one, (the kit PC I had tried and my lack of soldering skills put it beyond me).
Soon with my own black and white portable 12″ TV I moved to the Sinclair Spectrum. You could find me in Boots or WH Smiths typing away on their Demo units. I had my 10 seconds of fame when I ran. I then pushed out the way and somebody else took over.
Hours spend in bedroom typing up programs from magazines. Then when you ran it, it would crashes and you would have no idea why. The noisy screech from the tape player of the program loading from cassette tape.
Due to funding issues my interest in PC never went any further for several years until 1986, but that is another story.
