If nothing else the title makes for an ecliptic mix of subjects.
Today I am enjoying my third Friday off from work (I only have one more to work this year on the 31st Dec) and I have been playing Dads Taxi for the daughter so she can get some cat food before going to work (long story, special cat food, hungry cats lost online order etc. etc.), Dads Taxi for my son so he can return my would be Xmas present as I already have the CD, a little shopping of my own had the shops had what I wanted. So just on lunchtime I returned home with no present but a couple of items that the wife was unable to pick up last night. Black Friday shopping is in full swing local Curry\PC World had Xmas carols playing at full volume as you walked in the entrance (our PCWorld\Currys has an entrance porch before you pass through the doors to the shop floor), so they are playing one carol very loudly in the entrance porch, then another carol right by the entrance door as walk into the store, a VERY LOUD SHAMBOLIC SOUND, guy handing out leaflets at the door seemed totally oblivious to it. Not finding what I wanted in store I have been online, then I saw it……………….. First the back story, I like Lego I enjoy building Lego and as I have about 5 to build I like collecting them as well. Well I have been looking at one model for a while now which is very expensive trying to decide do I buy it or not. I had considers it when we were on holiday a few weeks ago and we went to the Lego shop, but I managed to control the urge, keeping an eye online I have been watching the post and I said to the wife if it drops to X, I will get it. Today it has dropped to X+£30, which is a saving of just on £90. Now I feel that this is not one of those rigged Black Friday as I have been monitoring the cost since it was released (earlier this year), many of the shops including Lego web site are still offering it at the full price. The jury is still out on if I do purchase it.
I have set up the fish hospital again, I have a small tank about 18″ square that I use when a fish gets ill. I normally treat the fish in the main tank (5ft long, 100 gallons) as if there is an infection then the likelihood is that the other fish will be infected as well. But this poor chap apart from having a bad eye had been the target for bullying and he was a mess. This is a common thing in the animal world if they are ill they become a target for bullying and as he is a large male of his species the other males took there chance to show him who is the boss. He has lost a lot of scales on his flank, has cloudy\bubble eye on his right eye, a lump on his jaw, his tails has been torn and he has fin rot. So now he is in a tank of his own with a daily medication for five days (todays the third), I am surprised how lively he is, in the mail tank he was keeping to one place and only swimming away slowly, I was expecting him to just sit on the floor of the hospital tank for a few days, but from the moment he was put in the tank he been swimming around, so it is looking good for him. While browsing the internet for xmas present idea been listening to a bit of music, been listening one of the band my son likes, Sabaton, now they make a lot of what can only be called history music, they choose a past wars, battle or events and make songs around them, these are all true stories, here is one of my favourites.
